MyGift2MyChild, LLC (MG2MC) is a full-service educational support organization owned and operated by Dr. Lauren Semper Scott, a seasoned practitioner in education with over 25 years of experience in the education arena. Dr. Scott brings extensive practical experience in curriculum design, instructional design, professional development, and institutional change management. Dr. Scott has a particular interest in teaching and testing strategies and techniques for working with struggling students or students with varied learning differences.

Why MyGift2MyChild (MG2MC)?

MG2MC exists to serve as a resource for parents and teachers seeking to strengthen and improve learning outcomes and performance. Through a portfolio of resources, mentoring, instructional coaching services, and consulting initiatives, Dr. Scott collaborates with parents and teachers to develop remediation roadmaps and instructional support for students at every level.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Scott’s areas of expertise include primary or elementary school curriculum, curriculum alignment with national standards, learner readiness and success, teaching and testing critical thinking, strengthening reading comprehension, basic assessment and remediation, and advocacy for students with diverse learning needs. Dr. Scott also focuses on developing and strengthening study habits and test taking skills for students at all grade levels.

In response to the global pandemic, Dr. Scott spearheaded a 2-day virtual symposium titled “21st Century Teaching and Learning in Trinidad & Tobago”. Dr. Scott continues to collaborate with teachers, principals, and parents to: 

• Identify and design remediation strategies to combat learning loss.

• Strengthen parent partnering in the learning triangle. 

• Deliver professional development for teachers & administrators.

• Assess reading skills and readiness with an emphasis on strengthening comprehension skills.

• Evaluate lesson plans, test documents, and grading practices.

• Analyze individual and school performance in high stakes exams (e.g. SEA, Trinidad & Tobago)
